FLOW WITH ABBI

Meet Abbi

Abbi Hart is a local surfer and artist who captures the fluid rhythms of life in the sacred Bundjalung country.Through her lens, she examines what gives her a sense of liberation and wholeness.

As we honor the divine feminine and our life-giving waters at Lohae, we’ve invited Abbi to join our conscious community by sharing her reflections on her profound relationship with the ocean.

Q. If you had to describe your connection to water in one word, what would it be and why?

Grounding. Enriching. Nurturing.

Q. Can you share a moment when you felt deeply connected to the ocean—one that has stayed with you?

Gosh! Every day! I’m lucky enough to live in (perhaps biased) one of the most beautiful pockets of the world - where the mountains meet the sea. Sacred land. A meeting place. A playground. We dance on waves here.

My connection to the ocean feels so incredibly infinite and ever-present, especially at home. Being a surfer, the ocean is my place of peace and play. I could give you paragraphs about dreamy surfs that are stored in my memory bank (and for life, I hope!).

But without rambling on - any fellow surfers, water babies, or wave chasers reading this will understand. It’s a feeling we all know and share: paddling out towards the horizon, over the surging energy that becomes the waves we dance on. The sky is soft. The sun is warm. The heart sighs a breath of relief. Our worries may be washed away. We dance. We glide. We are home.

In what ways do you embrace and celebrate your own strength as a woman, and how does that strength flow into your daily life?

You know, lately I’m really learning to embrace everything that femininity embodies - it’s not just one way. It is strength and softness. It’s fluidity and flow. It’s freedom.
